A commercial door is not a domestic one in a bigger size. It gets opened and closed constantly, it has to keep working in the cold and the wet, and when it fails your premises either stand open or stay shut. Both cost you money.
We make and fit aluminium doors for retail units, offices, warehouses and hospitality premises across London and the rest of the UK. Aluminium is what most commercial specifications land on, and for good reason — the frames are slim enough to keep the glass line generous, strong enough to take a closer and a panic bar without sagging, and they do not swell, rot or need repainting every few years. Where the opening calls for a powered leaf instead, our automatic doors cover that.
Every door is made to measure after a site survey. We do not fit from a catalogue of stock sizes, because commercial openings are rarely the size a catalogue expects.

A surveyor measures the opening properly, checks what the frame is fixed into and asks how the door will be used — footfall, deliveries, fire escape, access control. You get an itemised quote covering supply, fitting, removal of the old door and making good.
We confirm the system, the glazing, the hardware and the colour before anything is cut. If your landlord or a shopfitting contractor needs to sign off a drawing, we produce one.
Made to your opening in our own workshop, powder coated to the agreed colour, and glazed before it leaves. Nothing is cut on site that does not need to be.
Most single doors go in inside a day. We fit out of hours or in phases where a daytime install would shut you, then hand over with the closer set, the locks working and the site cleared.
If the door is part of a wider frontage, it is usually cheaper to do both at once.
A door on its own is a straightforward job. But if the frame around it is tired, the glass is misted or the whole frontage is dated, replacing the door alone tends to make the rest look worse. We will say so at survey rather than after.

Not every door needs replacing. Quite often it needs adjusting.
Aluminium doors drop on their hinges, closers lose their tension, and glass gets broken. Any of those can be dealt with without a new door. We repair commercial doors as well as fitting new ones, including replacing the glass in an existing aluminium frame, and there is a 24-hour emergency line if a door has been forced and the premises are open.
If the frame itself has gone — corroded fixings, a distorted outer frame, an opening that has moved — that is when replacement makes sense, and we will tell you which of the two you are looking at.

Aluminium is not always right. On a listed building or in a conservation area the planners will usually want timber, and we fit that too. For a low-traffic domestic side door, uPVC is often the sensible spend and we will say so.
Aluminium commercial doors take multi-point locking, anti-lift hinges and laminated glass where the risk warrants it. For premises that have been targeted, or where insurers have set a requirement, a steel security door or a roller shutter over the top is the stronger answer and we would rather point you there than oversell an aluminium door.
Fire-rated aluminium doorsets exist and are tested as a complete assembly — leaf, frame, glazing and hardware together. A rating cannot be added to a door after the fact. If your opening needs one, tell us at survey and we will specify a tested set rather than a standard door.
Maglocks, keypads, push-to-exit and overhead closers can all be built in from the start. Retrofitting them later usually means drilling a door that was not designed for it.
