Most shutter firms make you fill in a form to learn what everyone already knows they’ll ask: size, type, motor. We’d rather publish our prices and let you do the maths before you call.

Below are our real supplied-and-fitted prices for a typical single shop front opening, what moves them up or down, and how to compare quotes like-for-like. Prices may differ slightly or increase depending on exact size and design requirements. Your exact figure comes from a free, no-obligation survey.

Our roller shutter price list

Perforated shutter£1,500Lit window displays — fashion, phones, opticians
Punched-hole shutter£2,200Near-solid strength + vision slots — convenience, pharmacy
Rolling grille£2,200Shopping centres, arcades, car parks — full visibility

All prices are supplied and fitted on a typical single shop front, and may differ slightly or increase depending on exact size and design requirements.

Planning a whole frontage? Shutter costs sit alongside our shopfront rates — an aluminium-and-glass shop front with shutter and door from £3,500 — on the full shop front price list.

The five things that move a shutter quote

  • Size of the opening. Curtain area drives material cost; width also decides barrel and motor spec. Beyond ~5m most jobs move to heavier components or twin shutters.
  • Curtain type. As the table shows: solid and perforated laths cost less to produce than punched-hole pressing or link-built grilles.
  • Operation. Electric adds motor, controls, safety brake and electrical connection over manual push-up — the exact difference depends on motor spec, confirmed at survey.
  • The building. Easy fixings into a steel or concrete lintel cost less than building out support on a tired timber frontage; tight headroom may need a compact barrel. This is why we survey before quoting — it’s also why internet-only quotes grow on fitting day.
  • Finish and extras. Standard galvanised is baseline; powder-coating to a RAL colour, bottom-rail locks, anti-tamper end plates and app control each add a little.

How to compare shutter quotes properly

Ask every bidder the same four questions. Is the price supplied AND fitted? (Supply-only numbers look great until the fitter’s invoice lands.) Is the survey free and the quote fixed after it? What’s included — locks, colour, electrical connection, waste removal? Who fits it — your own team or a subcontractor?

Our answers: yes, yes, all of it, and our own fitters — the same team that’s installed for Tesco, Lidl, Costa and Pret over 10+ years, rated 5.0 by our customers.

Cheap shutters: where the money went

A quote hundreds below market usually gave something up you can’t see in the PDF: thinner lath gauge, no safety brake on the motor, unbranded motors without spare-part support, or a curtain “sized” from photos that binds in its guides within a year. The repair call-outs we attend tell the story — a worrying share are shutters under three years old, bought on price. Buy once. If budget is tight, a manual solid shutter at £1,500 beats a cut-corner electric one at the same money.

Running costs

Two to plan for: an annual service (legally expected under PUWER for powered shutters — it protects the motor warranty and prevents most breakdowns) and electricity, which is trivial — a tubular motor runs seconds per day. Repairs outside servicing are the wildcard; our emergency repair team is 24/7 if you ever need it.

Roller shutter price FAQs

Our supplied-and-fitted prices start at £1,500 for solid and perforated shutters and £2,200 for punched-hole and rolling grilles, on a typical single shop front. Prices may differ slightly or increase depending on exact size and design requirements.

Electric adds the motor, controls and safety systems to the base curtain price; the exact difference depends on motor specification for your size and curtain weight, confirmed free at survey.

Different lath gauges, supply-only vs fitted, subcontracted fitting, and whether locks, colour and electrics are included. Compare the spec line by line, not just the bottom number.

Yes — free and no-obligation across London and the South East, and the quote after it is fixed.

Roughly, until about 5 metres wide — beyond that, heavier barrels, bigger motors or twin curtains step the price up. We’ll tell you where your opening sits on the phone.

An annual service (required in practice for powered shutters under PUWER) and negligible electricity. Budget for the service; it’s cheaper than any breakdown it prevents.

Standard galvanised finish is included; powder-coating to a RAL colour adds a modest amount and most shops consider it worth it for brand match.
